While my sister-in-law was visiting we spent some time near Union Square, the shopping mecca of San Francisco. There are over 2,000 stores in the span of a few blocks, including all the biggest department stores.
Shelley Clair is an art major, so one afternoon we started out by visiting a few art galleries. I’ve never noticed just how many art galleries there are until I was on the look-out–they’re everywhere! The closer you get to Union Square, the more they multiply–sometimes two or three on one block.
As the afternoon wore on into dinner-time, we moseyed over to Union Square to find sustenance at The Cheesecake Factory. First, we stopped by the square center because there was some sort of community music/dance thing going on.
We never did figure out what it was, and about 10 minutes after we glimpsed the show the crowd had dispersed. You never know what you’ll stumble upon here in the city!
The Cheesecake Factory is at the top of (one of the many) Macy’s, with great views of the center of Union Square. You can eat out on the deck, right behind the Macy’s sign.
Good times… I miss having a sister here!
More city sights coming soon as we explore San Francisco!
