Way Overdue

I had several Christmas ambitions this year that just didn’t happen.  Christmas was very non-traditional this year so it didn’t matter much.  But it sure is strange trying to finish up a Christmas project in almost mid-January…

Grand Ambition Priority One: Quilted Tree Skirt

I worked like a maniac to cut, piece, and assemble this tree skirt.

But with everything going on, the quilting had to be done the last week of school before the cruise… and it just didn’t happen.

So, I laid the skirt around our tiny tree (next year, no matter where we are, I am determined to have a proper tree… and the skirt will be proportional) and it looked pretty enough.

the cats loved it!

Now I just have to find the time to get the materials for quilting to finish up this project… I will probably just use ties since I don’t have a long-arm.

Ambition Number Two: Christmas Cross Stitch

still plugging away...

This wasn’t even classified as a grand ambition.  After all, I’ve been working on it for over a year and a half, I’ve written about it here and here, and you would think I could finish it up with all the time I’ve given myself.  But it didn’t happen either :(  There was just too much going on.  It is almost, almost completed.  But I didn’t make it happen in time for Christmas.

Sometimes, it just doesn’t happen in time.  C’est la vie!
