New Year, New Planner

Buying a new planner is one of my favorite parts of the new year!

At the end of every year, I like to take the time to read through the past year’s planner, noting all those little details that I’d forgotten already: doctor appointments, movies, dinners with friends, parties, school events… all those little events that didn’t get photographed or blogged about, but they sure kept me busy for an entire year!

And after spending a few moments remembering the past year, it’s time to transfer pertinent data–upcoming appointments, birthdays of friends and family (not everyone is on Facebook!), etc.

But this year is special… because this year, I didn’t buy a run-of-the-mill planner from Office Depot or Wal-Mart.  This year, I ordered a Choo Choo Cat Mini Diary, straight from Japan!

Not the cheapest thing I’ve ever bought on eBay, with the international shipping, but definitely my favorite present to myself! (Pictures are all from our “Christmas” on December 27th, the day Sam & I celebrated in SF… hence the pajamas and wrapping paper sometimes visible!)

Every page is filled with absurd illustrations, and I love it!

It has everything I could need, too… a yearly calendar, month by month calendars, weekly calendars, lined pages for notes, and even a pen holder.

It’s perfect!

I know it’s a little thing, but I just know I will enjoy using this compact planner the entire year–from one ludicrous kitty in a frog costume to the next!

I think this may be a new tradition–a fun planner each Christmas to treat myself 🙂

Cheers to the Plans of 2012!
