City Sights: Grace Cathedral

My Mom flew out to visit recently, and on my 25th birthday we stopped by our favorite spot in the city–Grace Cathedral in Nob Hill, modelled after Notre Dame in Paris.

It was still light out after eating dinner at Nob Hill Cafe (half a block away and my very favorite Italian restaurant here!), even though the church doors were not open.

Even without peeking inside at the gorgeous stained glass windows, intricate wooden nave, and labyrinth there’s more than enough beauty outside to marvel at.  Huntington Park, lit with twinkling lights in the trees at night, is also across the street.

It was such a comfort to have my Mama with me on my birthday, and sharing a few moments in the peace of Grace Cathedral made my birthday special, even in the midst of a lot of worry and uncertainty.  I love my Mama!

More city sights coming soon as we explore San Francisco!
