WIWW: March 3-9, 2013

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time!  I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit.  So these weekly check-ins are a nice journal of my life too!

But first, an announcement: I have a new Fashion Diaries button!

The Amateur Librarian // Fashion Diaries

I updated my Fashion Diaries archives, so now each week has a clickable button with a preview for that week.  Yay, no more white page with long lists of boring links!  Now each week I’ll make a new image showing my three favorite outfits, and add it to the archives after it’s posted.

I’m slowly but surely adding pictures to all my archive pages… and now on to this week’s outfits!

purple hi-low top // GroopDealz
initial necklace // Etsy
grey jeans // American Eagle via eBay
snakeskin flats // eBay

Beautifully lazy Sunday.  I stayed in pajamas until noon and worked on a new mini quilt project.  More wonky improv-pieced words!  Comfy clothes are about as simple as it gets, perfect for a day at home.

navy eyelet lace top // Anthropologie via eBay
Pippa necklace // gift
tan cardigan // Ann Taylor
grey pants // old
black heels (not pictured) // PayLess

Monday neutrals – I like this palette of navy, grey, and tan with a little gold and green.  Normal crazy start to the work week, and I went to the gym afterwards.

pinstripe dress // Ann Taylor
floral cardigan // Old Navy via eBay
silver circle necklace // eBay
black tights // Walgreens
ankle strap heels // eBay

Black and white is always an easy combination – and I love this easy-to-wear dress.  The twist at the waist is just enough to make it more interesting than a plain shift dress.  Worked out again after work.

geometric print top // Belk
chevron necklace // GroopDealz
open front blazer // Loft
black pants // Banana Republic
black flats // PayLess

I usually wear the silver side of this necklace, but I was feeling minty on Wednesday!  I like having a few of these printed tops in my wardrobe – super simple to pair with black or grey slacks, and throw on a cardigan or blazer and I’m out the door without throwing a million options on the floor.  Work was fine – I relocated within the office and I love my new neighbors and new view of the bay!  Went to the gym with a co-worker after work.

black top // Banana Republic via eBay
green stone necklace // eBay
floral skirt // Loft
black tights // Walgreens
ankle boots // old

I’ve had this skirt since high school – can it be considered vintage yet?  These ankle boots are probably just as old – I found them at the back of my closet.  I love it when that happens!  I probably wouldn’t buy them in a store today – the square toe is out of style, and the mid-calf height is a little off, but the outfit was fun to wear.  Who needs new shoes when I can shop my own closet?  Worked out again after work.

crochet yoke top // Old Navy
black tank underneath // Old Navy
purple stone necklace // inherited
black skinny jeans // eBay
black boots // Belk

Casual Friday!  Great day at work – full of moments that made me happy to be where I am.  Raffle in the morning (click here to see what I won!) followed by walking down to the piers for a late lunch with co-workers.  I cancelled my class at the gym – I’ll take Pier 23’s cod and shrimp sliders with a view of the bay over a workout any day!

Bonus!  I threw on a scarf as I ran out the door – it was a little chillier than I expected!

And after work – breakfast for dinner with the hubs.

polka dot top with striped layer // Loft
owl necklace // inherited
black skinny jeans // eBay
silver flats // PayLess

A sunny Saturday filled with lots of my favorite things – sewing, reading (on the fire escape), and just enough cleaning to make me feel productive.

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
