WIWW: March 17-23, 2013

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time!  I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit.  So these weekly check-ins are a nice journal of my life too!

Happy St. Paddy’s Day!  It was Christmas in March with my sunburn and green, but oh well… at least I didn’t get pinched!  We went to church and small group, then tried to be as lazy as possible for the rest of the day.

These ankle boots are definitely my new go-to shoes for dresses at the office.  They fit just like heels, and they’re comfortable too.  Work was fine but busy as usual.  I worked out after work, and we had ramen noodles for dinner – tastes just like college!

I finally found a color combo that works with this deep emerald green cardigan – I think blue & green is a winner!  I just couldn’t figure out why the color wasn’t as versatile as I thought it would be, but I’ll probably stick with a variation of this combo in the future.  Cozy rainy Tuesday, and I went to the gym again after work.

Foggy, rainy Wednesday.  I love this swingy floral tank, and it’s super easy to pair with skinny pants and a cardigan.  The necklace was made by a relative when I was a baby, and it still fits!  Just your average day at work, and I went to the gym again afterwards.

Here’s proof via Instagram- both that it was rainy and that I worked out!

teal v-neck dress with braided waist // Target
Pippa necklace // gift
open front blazer // Loft
grey tights // Gap
ankle boots // eBay

Again with the ankle boots – I keep them at the office with my other heels and just wear flats on the bus to and from work.  Much easier that way!  Another easy dress to pair with tights and a blazer to pull it together.  It’s hard to tell, but the tights are grey – it felt a little less harsh than black tights.  I’m on a roll with the working out – went again after work.  Then I negated it all with pizza and Project Runway, but hey – that’s what Thursdays are all about.

Casual Friday!  The annual Easter Egg Hunt was held a week early – a super fun office tradition.  I even found the golden egg!  My co-worker helped me bring home a huge framed photograph in her car – so much easier than attempting the bus or a cab, so I was very grateful for the help (I wrote about the cat’s reactions on Monday).  Friday night, we went to North Beach for Italian food – I think it’s our new favorite neighborhood because there’s more of a nightlife and of course the food is good too!

We skipped the laundry and headed to Haight Ashbury to rent bicycles and ride through Golden Gate Park.  I definitely don’t consider myself an athletic person, so I was super impressed that we could handle the nine mile round trip!  It was really fun to spend the day outside, even if we were exhausted by the end of the day.  We ate breakfast for dinner and watched First Postion afterwards – a documentary about ballet dancers preparing for a prestigious competition.  (Great stories, and so interesting!  Highly recommend.)

Bonus!  I ditched the jewelry and ballet flats for my Toms when we went biking.  I even got to roll up my jeans for the beach 🙂
