City Sights: National Grilled Cheese Day

If we don’t have any weekend plans, we usually peruse the Fun Cheap SF website on Saturday mornings to see what’s going on in the city.  It seems there are always festivals, museum deals, or fairs happening every weekend.

Last Saturday happened to be National Grilled Cheese Day (who knew?) and the food trucks at the SOMA StrEAT Food Park all had grilled cheese specials.  So we decided to take a bus down to the food park for lunch.

The food park has a great set up – quite a few food trucks, with shaded areas for picnic tables and even a DJ playing music.  We checked out all the trucks’ menus, and brought our food to a deck built onto an old school bus.  I got “The East Coaster” from the Fuki food truck – the grilled cheese special made with swiss cheese, Virginia ham, and maple syrup.  Yum!

We played a couple games of skeeball, enjoyed the music, and soon we were on our way…

Fun times!  More city sights coming soon as we continue to explore San Francisco!
