Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a nice journal of my life too!

yellow and grey striped top // Mod Cloth
skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
silver flats // PayLess
Lazy Sunday around the apartment… caught up on chores, worked on a baby quilt (slow, slow progress…), and watched quite a few episodes of Game of Thrones to catch up to the current season. I love lazy days!

Tax Day and a Monday – but the day wasn’t all bad. This top has seen me through student teaching, many days of librarian work, and is still going strong years later. I can always pull it out in a pinch, and I love that it goes so well with the new set of pearls my parents gave me for Christmas. A girl can never have too many pearls… and I think I wore them almost every day this week to prove it. After work, I went to the gym. I’ve started signing up for classes a bit later on Monday so I’m not quite so frazzled to finish everything before I’m out the door. Mondays are always chaotic, so it seems like this little delay has helped calm the madness.

tribal print t-shirt dress // thrifted
pearls // eBay
open front blazer // Loft
black tights // Walgreens
ankle boots // eBay
This is definitely one of my favorite thrifted dresses. It’s starting to look a bit pilled, which makes me sad. I paired it with all black to try to make it more work-appropriate. Busy day at work, and going to the gym afterwards was a nice stress relief.

I had an afternoon doctor appointment, so I made sure to wear an easy outfit for the transition from work to walking to doctor’s office. The closest bus stop to the hospital is about five blocks away, so flats were a must. I wasn’t feeling great, so the quick appointment and blood work was much appreciated, and getting home by 5 PM for a nap was even better.

floral cardigan // Banana Republic
white tank underneath // Old Navy
pearls // eBay
black jersey skirt with lace // old
black tights // Walgreens
brown ankle strap wedges // PayLess
This outfit came about after rooting around in the back of my closet during one of my purging sessions and I re-discovered this comfy black skirt from years ago. I decided to give it a go to see if it was worth keeping around – and it is! I used to wear this super comfortable skirt with flip flops and a t-shirt, but I think the cotton knit can still be work appropriate since it’s black and a longer length. I think the length is why it got shoved to the back—it’s in between knee length and ankle length because I’m petite – but now that maxi and midi skirts are on trend, I think it looks OK. I really liked wearing the tank underneath the cardigan – no bulky sleeves to worry about. I ended up really enjoying this outfit all day long. After work, I went to the gym again.

black top with lace yoke // Anthropologie via eBay
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch via eBay
black studded flats // eBay
Another top I pulled from the depths of my closet – I don’t wear it that often in my non-work time, but it didn’t really seem appropriate for work either. Enter Casual Friday! No accessories needed, which is nice every once in a while. Nothing much happened this week, but I was exhausted by the end of it. I was so happy to skip out the door and down the street for dinner and a glass of wine.

brown tunic with lace v-neck // Loft via eBay
coral circle necklace // Groop Dealz
jeans // Aeropostale via eBay
floral flats // eBay
Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. This top is probably supposed to a regular shirt, but on me it looks like a tunic – oh well! No jacket or scarf required all day – of course it still cools down at night, but with no AC that’s fine by me! I was on the go running errands – to the post office, bank, hardware store, grocery store, etc. It was nice to be out and about in the sun.
