WIWW: April 28-May 4, 2013

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a nice journal of my life too!

This dress was perfect for inside and out – inside I was working on a baby quilt, reading, and watching my favorite Sunday night TV shows – Mad Men, Game of Thrones, and Veep.  Outside, there were a few errands to run, lunch to eat (it was too pretty to stay inside!), and one of my favorite indulgences – a pedicure!

Now that it’s sandal season, I had to get some colors on those toes!

beige cardigan // Ann Taylor

grey pants // old

I really like this outfit, maybe more in person than in this picture.  The colors just seemed to mesh really well together, and I felt totally comfortable but also put together enough for work.  After a hectic Monday, I went to the gym after work.

Casual dress at the office in honor of a co-worker’s last day.  Happy hour after work turned into several hours at a couple places and lots of good times.  I’m grateful every day that I work with awesome people!

I never thought that when I bought this top, it would be such a staple for my work outfits.  It’s so easy to throw under a blazer and call it a day – whimsical and comfortable, but still a step above casual.  I wasn’t feeling too peppy, a combination of staying out late the night before and an allergy attack, but at least I felt cute.  I’ve never suffered from allergies before, but there must be something in the air – all week I had sinus pressure, a sore throat, and lot of congestion.  I think it may have turned into a cold at some point.  Yuck!  Despite the sniffling, I went to the gym with a co-worker after work.

This dress is cute but I find myself only pulling it out of the closet a couple times a year – the color is pretty bright, it doesn’t look good with tights so it has to be warm enough for bare legs, and it wrinkles easily so I usually avoid it if I need to go from work to another event.  But other than that, I think it’s really cute!  I did wish I had added a belt about halfway through the day, but my new shoes went perfectly with the spring vibe.  (Maybe that’s another factor – black shoes definitely don’t look good with the light color, so my shoe options are also limited.)  After work, I went to the gym again.

Casual Friday!  To cap off a long week, we went to see Iron Man 3.  I love going to the movies, and  we hadn’t been in months.  It was fun to be back in the theater eating popcorn for dinner – and the movie was really good too!

Saturday was a great excuse to be lazy and recuperate from being sick.  I kept working on the baby quilt (and a top secret Mother’s Day present – I’ll share after it gets to Alabama).  We made margaritas for an early Cinco de Mayo celebration and stayed up late watching movies.  Pretty perfect Saturday at home, actually.

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
