Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a nice journal of my life too!

These are my “play clothes” – just like what I used to wear when I was outside playing with friends.  Except now, a day of play involves errands and a coffee break.  Sunday was all about catching up after our day trip to Napa – laundry, cleaning, organizing, etc.  We were able to get most of it out of the way in the morning, and all afternoon we indulged in back-to-back episodes of the new Arrested Development season.  I worked on a baby quilt and made good progress.  I got stuck when it came to dealing with the minky backing, so I called it quits for the day.  Such a nice feeling to watch the new episode of Mad Men on Sunday night without worrying about work the next day!

Happy Memorial Day!  Monday was drizzly and cold, which was perfect for staying cooped up inside.  We finished watching the new season of Arrested Development and I finished my friend’s baby quilt (more on that later this week!).  Sam helped me take a few pictures of the finished quilt, then I packed it up to be mailed the next day.  Sigh of relief that it all went smoothly – and looks pretty cute to boot, if I say so myself!  We rounded off our holiday weekend with a low key night with breakfast for dinner and reading in the living room.  It was a pretty perfect Memorial Day weekend.

Easy black and white outfit to start off the four day work week.  Work was crazy but manageable.  I skipped working out since I had book club – our pick for May was Wolf Hall, by Hilary Mantel.  We all liked the book, although it was pretty dense and not everyone finished reading it.  I really enjoyed a night of chitchat and good food – it’s nice to have at least one social activity that I can count on.

Skinny pants and flats for the transition from work to doctor appointment to night out.  I had an afternoon appointment that went smoothly (and quickly, which is always nice!), and afterwards Sam and I went to a free movie screening of This is The End.  The movie was pretty funny, in a ridiculous over-the-top kind of way.  It was fun to do something out of the ordinary on a Wednesday night.

Another hectic day at work, but at least I felt cute in my dress!  I think the navy/neutral combo works pretty well.  The locket has a few embellishments on the front, but I just flipped it over for the plain brass back.  I had to skip the gym again so I could go to the eye doctor and pick up my new glasses.  I had a flare up all week, which was so frustrating because I know that my symptoms subside when I am able to work out – but with so much going on each night, there just wasn’t time to fit in a hour-long class.

The work week flew by, and with so much going on every night I was pooped by Friday.  Simple tee and sandals for Flip Flop Friday at the office, then I finally got to work out.  Finally!  I felt so much better all stretched out after a week of sitting at doctor appointments and going out to eat every night.

Saturday was beautiful, and we spent the day outside at the Union Street Festival.  All festivals start to feel the same, but I still love all the live music, fair food, crafts, and people watching.  We must’ve walked at least five miles by the end of the day and we were exhausted!  But it’s a good kind of tired.  We left the chores for Sunday, which we hardly ever do, so it was fun to play hooky from the daily drudgery.
