Last Saturday we went to the flea market on Treasure Island, which is held the last weekend of each month. It was the perfect size – big enough to keep us occupied for several hours, but not so huge that it was completely overwhelming. Plus, there was an amazing variety of food trucks! Always a good thing.
Below are a few scenes…
Boutique in a truck!
Never mind the jewelry, I want to collect all the boxes!
This “Out of Body Experience” was interesting… there’s a maze painted on the ground, and a camera is set up overlooking the participants. They wear an eye mask that shows the feed from the camera… and then follow the maze with only the view of themselves from overhead. Interesting idea!
This was another cool side game… kids stand inside a plastic ball as it’s inflated with them inside, then roll around in the water. I kinda wanted to try it myself!
There were lots of food trucks to choose from – my favorite part! I went with clam chowder since I was eating light. Yum!
When we got home, Cora helped me unpack the loot. A new magnet made from reclaimed materials, a mint green frame, a tiny porcelain box, a couple brass cats, metals letters, and a silver ornament. It was fun talking to the vendors and learning the backgrounds of each item.
I added these metal letters to my nautical wall and propped them up on top of a frame. I might move them around, but for now I like it!
Cora was very interested in the ornament. The vendor said he works with a hill tribe in China, and this silver ball was originally an earring. Cora didn’t care for the history, though, she just wanted to swipe it off the table.
More city sights coming soon as we explore San Francisco!
Great photos! Quite a fair…loved the outer body/bubble games!
