Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!
ormbre striped tunic // Gap
grey leggings // Kenneth Cole via eBay
silver flats // PayLess
I was still catching up from our beach trip, so Sunday’s outfit was easy peasy for errands and lounging in the house. I was a little restless by afternoon, so I took a walk around the neighborhood playing with my Olloclip lens – it was fun to get out for a bit. Mostly I just puttered around and got ready for the upcoming week but it was nice to have some time to breathe after being away for a while.
green studded top // Deep South Pout
Stella & Dot necklace // gift
black skinny pants // Loft
black flats // PayLess
Studs are probably going out of style if they’re not already, but I still love this green top. I wore flats so I could go straight to Book Club after work. It was fun to catch up with the girls (I say that every time, I know!). Our pick for July was Lonesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry, but nobody had time to finish it so we moved the discussion to August. Actually, I was the only one to finish, but mostly because I had plenty of time to read during a few long flights and a storm or two at the beach.
pleated mustard dress // Deep South Pout
quatrefoil necklace // GroopDealz
floral cardigan // Banana Republic
grey tights // Walgreens
ankle strap heels // eBay
I love this simple pleated dress, especially because it works for all seasons. Busy day at work, with a nice break for a co-worker’s birthday lunch. Couldn’t go to the gym, but I made great use of my time after work by playing Candy Crush obsessively… yep, I’m officially addicted.
geometric print top // Ann Taylor outlet
red cardigan // Tommy Hilfiger outlet
pearls // gift
black pants // Banana Republic
nude heels // PayLess
Outlet outfit! I haven’t shopped the outlets in a really long time… so needless to say, I had a lot of fun catching up at the beach! I like this fun mix of print and color, especially for a grey day. June gloom came late this year! Every day has been overcast and foggy, but no rain. After work, I finally went to the gym again. I’ve been doing great working out 3-4 times a week since the year started, but it’s all gone downhill this month. I’m trying to get back in the groove because my membership is too expensive not to go! (Never mind all the health benefits, the real motivation is the expense… sad but true!)
navy blue keyhole top // Ann Taylor outlet
cream cardigan // Loft
floral print skirt // Gap
nude wedges // Naturalizer
I love this fun a-line skirt, and I’ve had it forever – I remember finding it on clearance at Gap with a friend when I was still in high school. Actually, that friend was Sarah, my maid of honor a few years ago… and I’ll be returning the favor at her wedding in September! Isn’t it funny how clothes connect memories sometimes? Anyway, I was starting to let the whole looming-prep-day-and-ensuing-colonscopy thing get to me, so I was in a pretty restless/depressed/angsty mood on Thursday. Luckily, I had Project Runway to look forward to. And also, I worked out and that made me feel a little better too.
print top // Ann Taylor outlet
sailboat pendant necklace // GroopDealz
skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
brown ankle strap wedges // PayLess
Another easy outfit, with Cora as the center of attention (just the way she likes it). Worked out again and went out for dinner to celebrate some good news… and enjoy some solid food before my colonoscopy prep!
striped top // Forever 21
silver initial leaf necklace // Etsy
skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
grey Toms // Nordstrom’s
Day of Distraction! We headed out to the Treasure Island Flea Market. Public transportation went pretty smoothly (always a factor!) and the flea market was big enough to keep us busy for a few hours but not so extensive that it was overwhelming. We had a lot of fun (even Sam!) and came home tired and ready for naps. We capped off the night with one of our favorite Italian restaurants… yum!
I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
