Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

The dreaded prep day… comfortable clothes are a must. My only plan for the day was snuggling with the kitties and trying to distract myself. The clear liquid diet wasn’t so bad (I blogged about my arsenal of supplies to change up the broth/jello routine, if you’re interested). We started the Lonesome Dove mini-series since I recently read the book, which was a great distraction (it’s pretty close to the book – it starts off slow but after the first half hour (or 100 pages) you get hooked on the characters). Then the prep began… and the less said about that, the better!

C-Day… more comfortable clothes for the colonoscopy procedure. Everything went smoothly, and I spent the rest of the day sleeping off the anesthesia. Sam worked from home to keep me company. I’ve learned to take it slow when eating solid foods again… so a little bit of ice cream, then a croissant and fresh fruit for lunch. We watched another part of the Lonesome Dove miniseries, but mostly I just slept the day away.

Heading back to work wasn’t so fun… I didn’t bounce back as quickly as I have in the past, so I wish I could’ve taken another day off in hindsight. Work clothes can be just as comfortable as pajamas, though, which I took advantage of! The day passed by one way or another, but I was definitely in no condition to work out so I headed home as soon as the work day was over. Tuesday was definitely a tough day.

I woke up feeling 100% better! It was amazing. And so is this dress… I love it! Another find at the outlets in Foley, AL. I felt recovered enough to go to the gym after work, and a glass of wine with dinner led to another early bed time. I can’t say I minded!

Simple outfit for work, then hurrying home for another medical appointment. It was definitely the week for medical activity… and as my mom said, I felt like a pincushion! I definitely enjoyed some pizza and Project Runway afterwards.

The last hurdle in my week of medical ordeals – another infusion day. It was cold out, but this cardigan is IV-friendly: a win-win in my book! I left work early for my appointment, and thankfully everything went smoothly. I was so glad when it was finally Friday night, with a stress-free weekend ahead of me and stressful medical procedures behind me!

A lazy day was just what I needed. I slept in and just enjoyed doing everything in a leisurely way. We went to Trader Joe’s to grocery shop, then made lunch at home and tried a new bottle of wine. The whole afternoon was lazed away on the couch, watching another part of Lonesome Dove and napping. It was so nice to take it easy, and rejuvenate from the week!
