Before we get started… today is the very last day to enter my 3rd Blogiversary Giveaway! Answer a couple quick questions at the link and leave a comment for a chance to win! I’ll randomly choose a winner tonight and announce tomorrow 🙂
And now back to our regularly scheduled programming… another week of What I Wore Wednesday!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

The pain meds were finally kicking in, and I was so grateful to be feeling better. I started working on a new quilt (inspiration blogged here) and it felt so good to get the sewing machine out again. It was foggy and overcast all day, so I was content to keep inside. The weekend ended with the season finale of Food Network Star (Woohoo for Damaris! Love her!) and the season premiere of Breaking Bad… good TV!

My go-to top when I have no idea what to wear… I never thought this bow print top would end up being such a staple, but I love it. I woke up completely pain-free… and just like that, after more than two weeks of constant intense pain… my flare-up was over. The abrupt starts and stops of flare ups are definitely the best AND worst thing about Crohn’s. Once the pain was gone, I was cautiously optimistic that it would last, and as the day went on I just felt over the moon excited by mundane tasks that were suddenly remarkable… When the alarm went off, I was actually still sleeping instead of lying awake in pain! I could sit at my desk and actually concentrate! I could work out and participate the entire hour of class! I could sleep for more than a couple hours at a time! The day was full of happy exclamations, I was just so thankful to feel back to normal again.

I tried this look both tucked and untucked, and ended up liking tucked infinitely better. I saw an outfit pin from Pinterest of a long blouse belted over a pencil skirt that I was trying to copy, but in real life it just didn’t look right. I think a combo of me being too petite and the skirt being too long. Oh well… I like the outfit with the shirt tucked in, so I was happy! Another average day at work, and I made it to the gym afterwards. I’ve become excited about working out all over again after my flare up ended. I’ll say one thing for Crohn’s… after a string of bad days, I’m a lot more happy and grateful for good ones.

I used to wear this top pretty frequently, but it’s fallen out of my usual rotation in the past few months. I decided I liked it enough to revive it rather than donate, and I like the color palette of green/cream/grey so I consider this a win! Another ordinary day, except for the fact that I’m still in the honeymoon stage after my recent flare up. It’s just so awesome to feel good again, and it makes even a normal work-eat-gym-eat-sleep kind of day seem special.

One of my favorite go-to dresses. Normal working day followed by working out and Project Runway on TV. We tried a new deep dish pizza place for dinner, but that’s about the most exciting thing that happened all day!

Casual Friday at the office. I met up with a friend for lunch, and it was great to catch up. After work, we tried out a new restaurant with a fun atmosphere. Great way to finish up the week!

Saturday got off on the wrong foot… Sam woke up with an upset stomach, Cora left a “surprise” on the floor, and I dropped a bottle on my foot in the shower and bled all over the place. After that fiasco of a morning, I gave up on getting anything productive done. I elevated my poor toe and watched First Comes Love on HBO (great documentary!) and then we went to North Beach for a mini Italian festival. The day got better, but I still felt off-kilter all day long.
