One Piece, Many Ways: Red Cardigan

I’ve been doing daily Fashion Diaries for almost two years now… I never would’ve thought that I could keep up with it on a daily basis, but now it’s become part of my routine. It’s great motivation for shopping my closet and mixing it up a bit… if I wasn’t sharing my daily outfits, I’m sure I’d be wearing the same few things day after day. Along the way, I’ve started following a few fashion blogs as well to find inspiration and see how others put together new outfits from their wardrobes. One of my new favorites is Putting Me Together – I love Audrey’s sense of style and how her advice is so reasonable and relatable.

I’ve been doing fashion diaries mostly as a fun way to chronicle my days, but I started to think of how I could actually put those pictures to use for my own reference… and it all clicked recently as I’ve seen how some of my favorite blogs organize their outfit archives by individual pieces. I started going through my fashion diaries and picking out some of my favorite staple items, the clothes I turn to time and again when I can’t think of anything else to wear.

Putting Me Together is hosting a One Piece Many Ways link up, and I’ve decided to join in!

I have two red cardigans… one a deeper “holiday” red, and one a lighter tomato red. It always surprises me how red can act like a neutral and pair so well with lots of different colors, but no one can accuse red of being boring! Red is like the exciting version of beige… it really does pair with a lot. Below are seven of my favorite outfits with a red cardigan (click each picture for a link to the original post).

This was a fun exercise, especially since I’ve already done all of the work in my weekly fashion diary posts… I’m no style blogger by any means, but I do try to have fun when it comes to my wardrobe. Stay tuned… it probably won’t be a weekly thing, but I just might hunt through my fashion diaries again to do another post in this series some time soon!

I’m linking up with Putting Me Together‘s One Piece Many Ways 🙂
