Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

Cape May tee // Gap
jeans // Aeropostale via eBay
silver flats // PayLess

Hung out around the house to wrap up our weekend.  Got some sewing time in, finished up the cleaning and laundry, and chatted with a few friends on the phone.  We watched the VMAs until the NSync reunion (and Miley’s outrageous performance, of course), then switched over to Breaking Bad.  I didn’t realize Miley’s dancing would cause such an uproar in the media, so it was fun to see it live rather than through clips the next day when everyone was talking about it.

red cardigan // Tommy Hilfiger outlet
pink geometric print top // Banana Republic via eBay
circle pearl bead necklace // eBay
grey pants // old
nude heels // Payless

Red and pink combo to brighten up Monday morning.  Uneventful day at work followed by working out at the gym.  We couldn’t think of anything good to eat for dinner, so we went to Trader Joe’s with everyone else in a five mile radius.  It was super crowded, but we found what we needed and got home as quickly as we could…. Then chicken parmesan for dinner!

tan and navy striped dress // Loft
navy cardigan // Loft
tangerine geometric pendant // eBay
nude wedge sandals // Naturalizer

I finally found a navy cardigan to go with this dress, and I hailed my hometown of Auburn, Alabama with a little pop of tangerine.  (War Eagle!)  My work day passed by uneventfully, and I worked out again afterwards.  Just another average day in the life…

skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
black flats // PayLess

I received a jury duty summons in the mail, and Wednesday I was called in.  I wasn’t sure what to wear… but I settled for comfortable.  The process was actually pretty interesting – I’ve never been summoned before, so it was certainly a new experience.  I brought a good book (The End of Your Life Book Club, by Will Schwalbe) for the inevitable waiting time… and loved this quote: “Reading is not the opposite of doing; it is the opposite of dying.”  The juror selection was a bit tedious, but it was still interesting to see the justice system up close.  I was dismissed pretty quickly after lunch time, so I enjoyed a free afternoon at home.  Not a bad day at all!

teal empire waist dress // Target
brown shrug // Ann Taylor outlet
silver rings necklace // eBay
brown ankle strap wedges // PayLess

Back to work again.  I love dresses, and I wear them pretty regularly – they’re so comfortable, it’s like wearing pajamas!  Especially an easy empire waist dress with no belt needed… throw on a cardigan, and I’m good to go!  Catching up at work after my day away wasn’t too bad, and afterwards I went to the gym with a co-worker.  Thursdayis always my favorite night of the week – Project Runway night!

grey open cardigan // Anthropologie via eBay
initial leaf necklace // Etsy
skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
silver flats // PayLess

Casual Friday dress for a laid back day at work.  The buses were empty with most people taking the day off, and our office closed at 2 PM.  I enjoyed my extra hours by getting a few errands done and indulging in some TV time.  Friday night was even better than usual with a long weekend ahead of us.  We headed down to Union Square for dinner and enjoyed the sights of downtown.

grey Toms // Nordstrom’s

To start off our Labor Day weekend, we headed to Mount Sutro for some hiking.  It was pretty cool to get lost in a forest in the middle of a city.  The trails were pretty muddy the higher we got, along with the fog and moisture.  It was beautiful, and we were dead tired after a few hours of hiking.  (Blog post about our adventure coming tomorrow!)

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
