Another week of What I Wore Wednesday! I didn’t have time to get a post ready when I got home from my Alabama trip tomorrow (post on that tomorrow! I’m way behind this week), so today is a double feature!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a nice journal of my life too!

Sunday was a frenzy of crossing items off my To-Do list for my upcoming trip, including a pedicure. So a dress was necessary for easy pedicure access, and flip flops of course… my instructions for wedding-ready toes were to find a shade between cranberry and burgundy, which was a fun challenge! And in the middle of all the cleaning and packing and errands… I decided to start a new craft project. I know, I’m crazy… but it did help calm me down in the midst of my frenetic anticipation.

Easy work outfit to start off the week. Just add pearls and I’m good to go! The work day went by quickly, and I went to the gym afterwards. I finished packing once I was home, and kept crossing those items off the To-Do list that didn’t get done on the weekend.

Casual dress for a week of training at work… cardigan a must because it gets so cold in the a/c! The timing wasn’t ideal with me out for the rest of the week, but my trip for the wedding had been planned months before the training was scheduled. After work I went to the gym with a co-worker, and capped off the night with the premier of my favorite sitcom New Girl! And it was so good… I love Zoey Deschenel, but the real stars are Winston, Schmidt, Nick, and CeCe… it’s like getting to see old friends again!

Another casual day at the office. When in doubt… white, navy, and pewter always work! The day seemed to drag due to my excitement… I was so ready to get on the plane!

After work and dinner, I was ready to get to the airport. I’ve never taken a redeye flight before, so I tried to make sleep as likely as possible with leggings, a comfortable tee, and glasses so I wouldn’t have to sleep in my contacts. Sleep didn’t really happen… but one way or another, I made it across the country safe and sound!

I was pretty much a zombie after the redeye flight to Atlanta. My parents picked me up at the airport and we stopped by my brother’s apartment to meet his girlfriend and eat breakfast. I hope I made a good first impression, because I was definitely out of it… fortunately, I felt much more human after a shower! Back in Auburn, we ran a few errands and caught up on Project Runway reruns… which means I dozed on the couch. It was awesome, and so nice to be back home hanging out with my parents.

Woohoo, flip flops! I miss wearing them all the time. A bit of shopping and running around before the wedding festivities officially got underway.

One of my favorite dresses for the rehearsal and events. An international student from Brazil gave my mom the gold and green bracelet, which went with the outfit perfectly! The rehearsal was held at the church where the bride and I grew up, so it was super cool to see the building again after many years away. Everything went smoothly, and the rehearsal dinner was a great chance to get to know the groom’s family. There was an after party for the young people, which was a lot of fun. My brother and Kristina showed up as well, which was nice for some bonus hang-out time during my short visit.

Bridesmaid attire. Even though the weather was mostly gorgeous, on the day of the wedding the skies opened up and poured for several hours… fortunately it was only slightly drizzling during the comings and goings from the ceremony. It was fun to be behind the scenes before the wedding, and the ceremony was beautiful. The night was perfect for catching up with family friends and everyone danced the night away… what more can you ask?

Sunday was the perfect lazy day to recover from the wedding. My brother was hanging out at home too, so we had the whole family together for the first time in what felt like years. We headed to a matinee at the movie theatre (We’re the Millers, which was funnier than I expected) and then dinner before Brock headed back to Atlanta. Back at home, we all dozed off while watching the Emmy’s… weddings are exhausting!

My last full day in Alabama… so of course Mom and I went shopping! Can you tell I’m obsessed with my new nude flats? I wore them almost every day.

Travel day back to San Fran. It was bittersweet… on the plus side, I was upgraded to business class which was awesome, and of course I was looking forward to seeing Sam and the cats again. On the other side… this is the last time I’ll see my family this year, and I’m not sure when the next time will be. Living across the country is no fun sometimes. Even though the flight was five hours long, with all the time zones I left Atlanta at 10:30 AM and landed in SF at 12:30 PM. I spent the afternoon unpacking and getting ready to dive back into reality… bleh! At least New Girl is back on TV.

Back to work, and it was a doozy. Our office went through a major system change while I was out, and I missed a couple days of training… so that wasn’t much fun catching up. After the work day was over, I went to the gym… another rude awakening after a week away!

One of my favorite dresses… another eBay find! Once again, my new nude flats go perfectly… I’m obsessed with these shoes! After work I went to the gym again, and enjoyed not only Project Runway but the season premiere of Parenthood too! Now that’s what I call a good TV night.

I was quite ready for my short work week to end… it was a crazy week! I had another doctor appointment in the afternoon, so I was just thankful to finally relax when the day was over.
…

Lots of catching up to do… starting with a full night’s sleep! Lots of boring chores and errands, plus the return of inflammation pain… blech. At least we had the movies to look forward to… Don Jon wasn’t what I expected, but I really liked it!

Loved the flats, the gray laced dress, the jewelry, and most of all, glasses!
