Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

floral print tee // Forever 21
skinny belt // Forever 21
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch
nude flats // PayLess

The beauty of a skinny belt is that it pulls an outfit together in public… and back home when it’s off, I’m just hanging out in a comfy tee.  We caught up on chores after neglecting them on Saturday for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival.  As a reward for organizing a pound of mail, I pulled out my Fall box and put up the decorations.  I love using the same decorations that I made last year, and hopefully for years to come.

red animal print dress // Loft
grey cardigan // Kohl’s
black pearls // eBay
ankle strap heels // eBay

I don’t wear a lot of red, but I love this animal print dress that my Mom found for me.  This cardigan rang up on the receipt as a “princess jacket” so now that’s how I refer to it in my head.  Typical Monday at work, followed by working out at the gym.

polka dot tank with lace embellishment // Loft
blazer // Loft
black bead necklace // old
grey pants // old
heels // PayLess

Another outfit from my shopping spree with Mom.  She spoiled me with enough clothing to last quite a while… I have to admit, it’s fun!  I love my new blazer, and I love it paired with this polka dot tank top (there’s lace on the sides, but you can’t see it in the pic).  After work, I changed into jeans for book club.  We had a surprise baby shower for one of the girls, and we all brought baby books as gifts.  It was fun to see what everyone brought and pass them around the table (I brought Pride and Prejudice: A Counting Primer… super cute!)

nude/black geometric print dress // Deep South Pout
open front blazer // Loft
sailboat pendant // Groop Dealz
nude flats // PayLess

I love this dress, neutral but still a statement with the bold geometric print.  I’m not sure if the necklace is the best choice because it looks almost dinky in comparison with the large scale print, but that’s what I had.  Maybe next time I’ll try a chunkier necklace or a pop of color.  After work, I skipped the gym for happy hour with some co-workers.  Good times!

blue wrap front top // Loft
black cami underneath // Old Navy
rose cameo necklace // Etsy
black skinny pants // Loft
black flats // PayLess

Easy outfit for work and a doctor’s appointment.  Recognize the necklace?  I wore it in Sarah’s wedding, and it makes me so happy to wear it again!  I got home a little earlier than usual after my appointment, so I used the remaining daylight to do a bit of fun sewing with my scraps.  It was nice to get lost in a quick project that was just for fun.

grey studded tee // Forever 21
silver chevron necklace // Groop Dealz
navy cardigan // Loft
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch via eBay
silver flats // PayLess

Another casual Friday at work.  A mini cold snap came to town, and I was freezing in just a little tee and cardigan.  It might be time to break out the sweaters, I’m excited!  I met Sam for lunch from the food trucks and we ate in a little park between our offices.  I finally went to the gym again after work.  I thought I’d be able to go every day, but life seemed to get in the way… oh well!  The week seemed to pass by quickly with something going on every night, but I was ready for it to slow down!

grey sweatshirt with lace front // Kohl’s
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch via eBay
silver flats // PayLess

I love this cute sweatshirt, super comfortable and casual – another item from my Alabama shopping spree!  We got up bright and early and headed to Fillmore Street to check out the neighborhood farmers market.  We ate brunch at The Grove and I was loving the cozy fireplace with fall decorations.  We had a brief dip in temps and it was finally feeling like fall… even though it only lasted a couple days.  We spent the afternoon lounging… Sam with a new video game and me at the sewing machine.  I love lazy weekend days!

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
