Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

Sunday was spent catching up on chores and getting ready for the week ahead.  I finished up my Halloween wall hanging – I love projects that can be completed start to finish in one weekend!  Sam and I decided to be rebels and go to a comedy show Sunday night, so we headed to a local club.  I didn’t even get dressed in real clothes until we left, it was that kind of stay-at-home day.  It was a lot of fun to do something out of the ordinary, and we were still home in time to get to bed at a reasonable hour.  So it was still somewhat responsible fun!

Another Monday in the books.   I’m still loving this blazer as an alternative to black, and throwing it on top of a sweater professionalizes it instantly (surprisingly, the word “professionalize” is in the dictionary!  I thought I made it up, but I guess it’s a real word).  After work I went to the gym, and caught up on the latest Parenthood episode when I got home.  Side note: Is it just me or does each season always start out a little rocky and then gets better as it keeps going?  Every season I think that I don’t like it as much anymore, but then I get hooked again by the third episode!

I’m channeling my high school mascot, the mighty yellow jacket!  I like the graphic combo of yellow and black, but I hardly ever wear it because of so many “yellow jacket spirit” events in high school.  Another normal day at the office, followed by working out.

I really liked the layers for this simple work outfit, and it was great for going straight to a doctor appointment in the afternoon.  My endocrinologist is a charming British doctor, and every time he sees me he says “Now where are you from again?  Oh right, Elvis pelvis!”  And then we discuss Tupelo, MS and its distance from where I lived, every single time.  It’s been 3 years since my thyroid tumor was removed, and I’ve been cancer-free ever since woot woot!

Love this shirt dress, another favorite from my shopping spree with my Mom.  Pretty average day, but I had to leave work early again for another scan… it’s hard to keep up with all the medical stuff, but I try my best!  Another day back at home around 5, and I always remember how bored I was waiting for Sam to come home from work before I started working out.  I whiled away my time on the computer and hanging out with the cats… and then it was time for the season finale of Project Runway!

I had to get blood drawn for a health insurance credit, and I have to admit I was pretty grumpy about it.  My appointment was at 9 AM which meant I could sleep in a little later, but of course I was up at 6:30 and bored of laying in bed awake.  I don’t know why I’ve lost the ability to sleep in!  Obviously I’m pretty aware of the status of my health… and I get sick and tired of needles all the time, thank you very much.  The day picked up though – the phlebotomist was really nice, the work day went by swiftly, and I finally got to the gym again after work.  It’s impossible to carry a bad mood through a Friday!

Sunny Saturday spent catching up on chores and sleep.  It’s nice to have a lazy day once in a while, although I prefer productive days… this day definitely doesn’t count as super productive!

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
