Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

We took it easy on Sunday with a walk to a nearby park and a lazy afternoon of napping. It’s been a struggle to keep it together with all the medical stuff going on, but I’m thankful for peaceful afternoons like this one.

Another Monday. Work was pretty hectic all day, but I met up with the hubby for lunch. It was nice to have a normal moment together in the midst of everything else going on that’s not normal at all. After work I went to a Sewing 101 class that I signed up for a couple months ago with a friend. I missed the first class but I really wanted to make an effort to attend the second one, even though it meant lugging my sewing machine to the Mission and staying up past 9 PM. It was my first time getting out of the house after work in the past three weeks, so it was nice to see other people but also a little exhausting. Baby steps!

It finally felt cold enough to wear this peplum sweater that I love even more because my BFF in MS has the same shirt and we always seem to wear it around the same time. Long distance twinkies! Went to a morning doctor appointment which put everyone in a bad mood, but after processing the news I felt more optimistic. Work was busy but it was a good distraction.

Every Fall I look forward to wearing this dress. It doesn’t really fit into any other season with the velvet and autumn embroidery, but I still love it. Wednesday was a busy day at work, but I met up with the hubby for lunch which was nice. Now that it’s so dark after work, all I want to do is hibernate with a good book.

One of my 2013 resolutions was to exercise more regularly, and I’ve been really good at working out consistently right up until a few weeks ago. In all those months, I never lost any weight at all (but I felt great, so I’m certainly not complaining)… but after 3 weeks of stress, all of a sudden I need a belt to keep my skirt up! Another busy day at work, but at least I had Project Runway to look forward to… always my favorite night of the week!

Everyone at work was buzzing about Batkid – the 5-year-old whose wish for the Make a Wish Foundation turned San Francisco into Gotham City for a day as he toured across the city catching bad guys with Batman. We walked to a nearby bankt to watch him catch the Riddler robbing the bank. It was so much fun to cheer him on and he was absolutely adorable! The rest of the day was uneventful (although we also took a field trip to take advantage of Starbuck’s BOGO deal) and so was the night.

Saturday was great, with a little bit of everything going on. We went down to Union Square for some shopping, and with the holiday decorations starting to go up it was a lot of fun. We even glimpsed Giada DeLaurentis at Williams & Sonoma for a book signing – although we did not stand in line around the block. At home, there was time to start a new project and read too. All in all, it was a pretty great way to kick off the weekend. We even fit in a massage at the end of the day, and it was heavenly!
