WIWW: November 24-30, 2013

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

Sunday was a little shaky, which seems to be a pattern on the weekends.  We attempted to visit Twin Peaks but it just didn’t work out.  It was frustrating to ride two buses for over an hour only to take a cab home in five minutes after not even seeing what we came for, but it is what it is.  Healing is a long and frustrating process!  Hubby slept the rest of the day and I worked on my cross stitching project… but I never mind being a homebody.

Casual days at the office for the short holiday week.  I pulled out the boots and scarf for the first time this season, which was exciting.  Hubby and I met up for lunch at the food trucks, which is becoming a weekly tradition.  We’re lucky to work within walking distance of each other!  In fact, we’ve been riding the bus together home too since I’ve stopped working out.  (Which is another decision I need to make… cancel my membership, find a new gym, or start going regularly again?  Decisions, decisions…)

Somehow short weeks always seem long, and Tuesday felt like a slog to the finish line.  At least there was some time to work on my cross stitch project after work.  It’s nice to have a project going again, especially one that’s more portable than sewing.

Thanksgiving Eve called for a cozy cardigan at work.  The office provided pizza for lunch which was nice, although hearing everyone talking about visiting with family the next day made me a little sad.  I had to remind myself that we planned out trip to San Diego for exactly that reason, to avoid feeling homesick.  The office closed early, so I finished up the last minute items to prepare for our trip and squeezed in some time for cross stitching.  Mostly I was excited to start our mini vacation!

Happy Thanksgiving!  We woke up bright and early for our flight to San Diego.  I’ll go into more details in another post, but the conclusion is that we had a really great holiday!  We walked along the waterfront, went on a sunset cruise around the bay, and ate a huge meal in the Gaslamp Quarter. It was a little sad not to be with family, but we filled up our time and had fun just being together.

Bonus!  Sam snapped a candid where I’m actually smiling and not gesturing in a weird way… I call that a win-win!

Our first full day in San Diego was packed.  We spent the morning at the zoo (and did the photo booth, of course!).  After a siesta we went to Old Town, where we ate dinner and did a Ghost Tour.  It was a busy day but super fun!

Bonus! Even Sam joined in the fashion diaries at the zoo!

We decided to take it easy for our last full day in San Diego.  We took a ferry to Coronado and I was so happy that it was warm enough for short sleeves!  The Hotel del Coronado was gorgeous and so was the beach.  We rounded out the day with people watching and dinner in the Gaslamp Quarter.  We had a great couple days and flew back home the next day.
