Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!
What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, and now in 2013 I’m adding a bit about my days to go along with the outfit. So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!
brown tunic // J. Crew via eBay
skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
grey Toms // Nordstrom’s
We flew home from San Diego after one last stop at Starbucks. It’s always a bit overwhelming to come home after a vacation and try to get back in the swing of things, but I managed to get the laundry done and the suitcase unpacked which helped. I brought out the tree but didn’t feel like dealing with the ornaments yet.
green print top // Banana Republic via eBay
pink lace cardigan // Kohl’s
coral circle necklace // GroopDealz
grey pants // old
black heels // PayLess
I’m not sure this top and cardigan is the best pairing, but oh well. Monday was pretty terrible, although it got better by the end of the day. It’s just so hard to keep everything together all the time when I have no idea how to handle what life is throwing at me.
geometric print dress // Deep South Pout
open front blazer // Loft
black tights // Gap
ankle strap heels // eBay
Tuesday was better. I love this dress, although it clung to my tights all day which was annoying. I tried out a new gym, and it felt great to work out again and take some time for myself.
peter pan collar print top // IG Closet
grey wool blazer // Loft
rice pearls // inherited
black pants // Banana Republic
slingback wedges // PayLess
Thank goodness I threw on a blazer because I forgot that I needed to look professional while helping to interview new candidates at work. I visited the new gym again on my lunch break which felt good. Unfortunately the night was pretty rocky. It’s becoming harder to be vague about what’s going on as everything at home drags on… I can’t be any more detailed because I’m not the only one involved, but I also can’t gloss over it because it’s the reality of my life right now. The last couple months have been very, very difficult and draining and I honestly don’t know when it will get better.
black dress // Ann Taylor
baroque pearls // eBay
dolman sleeve cardigan // Ann Taylor outlet
black tights // Gap
ankle boots // eBay
This dress is really hard to photograph, but I promise the outfit looks better in person. And I pulled out my booties again, that means it’s officially cold! After work I went to my very first yoga class ever. It was awesome, exactly what I needed. In this season of my life, I’ll take any peace I can get. Plus it was a nice change of pace to get a good workout in a non-competitive environment with quiet music, and actually feel relaxed by the end of it! At home we watched most of the live Sound of Music performance… unfortunately Carrie Underwood’s acting was a little cringe-worthy, but at least the singing was great! I recorded it so we could finish it up over the weekend.
green geometric print sweater // Gap
polka dot scarf // GroopDealz
skinny jeans // Kohl’s
boots // Belk
A little pattern mixing and more interviews at work. It’s nice to sit on the other side of the table! The day went by swiftly, another work week in the books. We went to see The Dallas Buyer’s Club, which was pretty good but a little long.
floral/striped top // Loft
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch via eBay
black flats // gift
Saturday I had the day to myself while Sam went to a Google event. I really enjoyed having some time to myself – I caught up with friends on the phone, decorated the tree, addressed Christmas cards, wrapped presents, and ran errands. That night we went to Oakland for the Not So Silent concert, which was fun. Quite a busy day!
