Welcome to Gingerbread Lane: Finished!

I’m happy to announce that I’ve finally finished my Gingerbread Lane cross stitch project!  I didn’t quite make the Christmas deadline, but I really enjoyed the process along the way.

All done!

I modified the pattern a bit… mostly because of errors, unfortunately.  I didn’t calculate the measurements correctly and had to leave off the Kawaii figures in between the houses and countdown.  I do think the Kawaii style is really cute, but without the figures I think the look is  more classic which I don’t mind.  There were a few counting errors but that’s practically inevitable, so I didn’t worry too much about it.   I’m chalking it all down to “charm”… my Gingerbread Lane is very charismatic!

I found a great frame from Art to Frame on Amazon with a a red mat.   Silly confession: I actually finished on 1/2/14 but I was so used to the year 2013 that I stitched the wrong year in my signature!  Oh well… it’s only a couple days off and I guess it will commemorate the 2013 season that I was mostly working on it.

I can’t wait to pull it out next Christmas!  I hung it up just to see how it looks, but I might just leave it there for a while to enjoy all my hard work!

It would be interesting to log how many hours it took, I forgot how time consuming cross stitching can be… maybe next project.

Speaking of which… the 2014 Once Upon a Time sampler just premiered!  I started stitching last weekend and of course I’ll share my monthly progress here too.  I’m way past obsessed with Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, I love their designs!  The online community is really fun too – I’ve never met anyone else who cross stitches (and I’m slightly embarrassed that I love it so much) so it’s been fun to connect with others with the same obsession working on the same projects.

Yay for a finish!  I know it’s not a quilt, but I’m linking up to Finish Friday at Crazy Mom Quilts 🙂

  1. Ooh this looks adorable! I’m ordering the fabric for mine when I get paid on Monday. I have started my fairytale sampler too! I still have my woodland one to finish yet…I think I’m obsessed too!

  2. The progress shots are so neat!! Lots of stitching and it looks great in the frame. I think you should keep it up through Feb! I have been wanting to start back at x stitching, but time has not permitted me to do that at the moment.
