Quilty Stitches Sampler Along : Swoon block

So this is going to be a cross stitch-heavy week, my apologies in advance!  I’ve taken a bit of a break from the sewing machine and I have to admit I’m a little obsessed with cross stitching again.  I really didn’t mean to start another sampler… but I found Little Miss Shabby’s Quilty Stitches sampler along and I just couldn’t resist!  Sixteen different quilt blocks in a cross stitch pattern.  Two of my favorite things!

I ordered the floss and it arrived super quickly (first time ordering from 123stitch.com and I’m a fan!) so I started this weekend.

The first quilt block revealed was the Swoon block.

I love my new kitty cat needle minder!  It’s fun to have a different needle minder for each ongoing project… or maybe that’s just my excuse for buying more!

The green, aqua, and coral color scheme for this block is so cute!  Lots of people are going with their own color schemes but I decided to just go with LMS’s picks… super cute!

I made a little color key for the pattern, but I think I’ll color in the next one.  After using downloaded patterns on the iPad for my last couple projects, it was a fun change to do a paper pattern again.

Swoon block all done!  LMS suggested white sashing and borders, but I’m going to wait and pick a color once the pattern is complete.  Loving the combination of quilt blocks and cross stitching!

I’m not going to stress out if I don’t keep up with each block as it comes up, but I’ll try!  Stay tuned…
