WIWW: January 19-25, 2014

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // WIWW

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

striped/polka dot top // Loft
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch via eBay
nude flats // PayLess

I basically didn’t leave the house on Sunday, way to go me!  Just a lazy day at home to wrap up the weekend – lots of time to stitch, and talk on the phone, and even watch the 49ers game… I’m still not a football fan but I can tolerate small doses!

ikat top // Loft
sailboat pendant // GroopDealz
cream cardigan // Loft
brown ankle strap wedges // PayLess

Casual dress since we didn’t get the holiday off… boo!  I learned from past experience and took a cab to work… public transportation is on a holiday schedule but there’s still plenty of people going to work, so the buses are packed and far between.  At least I knew what to expect this time around.  Work was fine, and we had a team lunch to welcome a new employee.  After work we caught up on Downton Abbey… I am still traumatized by Anna’s storyline and hoping things pick up soon…  it’s already a downer with all the deaths and grieving going on, but this latest development takes the cake for least favorite plotline!

navy lace dress // Forever 21 via eBay
gold tassel necklace // eBay
grey wool blazer // Loft
black tights // Gap
ankle strap heels // eBay

This dress would have more shape if I wore a belt, but the necklace won out.  Plus, it’s so much comfier without!   Another normal day at the office, followed by sushi for dinner since hubby was working late.  It’s nice to have some time to myself every once in a while.

geometric print top // Ann Taylor outlet
grey cardigan with chain trim // Kohl’s
champagne pearls // eBay
grey pants // old
heels // PayLess

This wasn’t my favorite outfit ever, but oh well.  I think a blazer or longer cardigan would look better, so I’ll keep that in mind for next time.  Another normal day at work and home with nothing much to say… I’m in a bit of a rut, I guess.  I really need to start working out regularly again, so I’m trying to work on the gym situation.

coral babydoll top // Belk
geometric pendant // eBay
black pants // Banana Republic
heels // PayLess

One of my new favorite tops, although I was pretty disappointed to find that it wrinkles after washing.  This week seemed extra long for some reason, but at least we had a fun little break to get ice cream during work.  It’s always nice to have a treat to make the day go by faster!  And of course I watched Under the Gunn… I’m liking it almost as much as Project Runway!

floral/striped top // Loft
triangle necklace // GroopDealz
olive skinny jeans // Gap
nude flats // PayLess

One of the (tempting) perks of working in an office in the middle of a shopping center is being aware of all the sales going on… I’ve been looking for a pair of olive green pants, so finding these for $12 was a steal!  I met up with hubby for lunch, and otherwise the day was pretty normal.  TGIF!

peplum top // Loft
skinny jeans // Abercrombie & Fitch via eBay
brown ankle strap wedges // PayLess

No makeup Saturday… sometimes these fashion diaries are hard to keep interesting!  Pretty lazy start to the weekend, getting errands and cleaning and laundry done.  We tried out a new restaurant for dinner (Taps on Polk Street) and it was pretty good!  Always fun to try something new.

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!

  1. I just have to say, I LOVE all of your tops from this week! Loft is always a winner in my book, and apparently we like some of the same books 😉

Also, I made a trip to the Kohl’s nearest us a few weeks back in hopes of finding that cardigan, and they did not have one. I was very sad.
