WIWW: February 16-22, 2014

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

I completely forgot about my fashion diaries, so I asked Sam to snap a pic while we were eating at one of our favorite diners… it’s so weird to think “This could be the last time…” everywhere we go!  Going out to New Village Café was our reward for a busy day of packing… got the books, games, and my sewing stuff all boxed up.  Day 2 of packing done!

Happy President’s Day!  So thankful for a day off right when I needed it most. Packing must really frazzle my brain, because I forgot all about fashion diaries AGAIN… so this was snapped at yet another diner (Toast!) after another long day of packing.  My main goal was to get the dishes and pots/pans packed, plus take down all the art off the walls and spackle the holes.  Mission accomplished!

Polka dot top // Loft
Quatrefoil necklace // GroopDealz
black skinny pants // Gap
black flats // PayLess

My move was announced at work, so I could finally breathe again after keeping everything a secret.  On my lunch break I went to a doctor appointment.  I was turned around all day due to the holiday and kept thinking it wasMonday… so I forgot all about book group, but fortunately someone sent a reminder email.  It was bittersweet to share my news and one last meeting with my favorite girls in the city – almost two years of monthly meetings and gabbing about everything under the sun!

Another hectic day at work – holidays weekends always give the illusion of a short work week, but somehow the office always seems super busy to make up for it!  After the work day it was back to packing boxes – two more boxes finally got the kitchen completely done.  Sam went out with co-workers for a goodbye drink, so I collapsed on the couch with some sushi and trash TV for the rest of the night.

Sheer black top with lace sleeves // Belk
gold tassel necklace // Forever21 via eBay
olive green pants // Gap
black flats // PayLess

I’m still experimenting with these olive green pants, so I’ve mostly just stuck with neutrals on top – black, grey, white.  I like having something other than a black pant, and luckily my office is casual enough that the skinny style is acceptable.  My cold was still lingering and I was feeling pretty run down after another busy day at work.  After work I was on the hunt for kennel dishes that are required by the airline to fly the cats – I checked one store and called two others before I finally found them.  I didn’t have the energy to pack any more boxes, so I indulged in some cross stitching and Under the Gunn – gotta keep well rested!

Teal lace top // Loft
chevron necklace // Deep South Pout
skinny jeans // Old Navy via eBay
nude flats // PayLess

I couldn’t resist another super sale at Loft – this top was only $6!  My very last casual Friday at the office – like I said before, it’s weird walking around thinking everything I do could be the very last time in San Francisco.  I had my first meltdown of the move when I ran into some issues getting my medical records over to my new doctor.  (Can you believe they still mail all medical records (even though everything is digitalized) and it takes 15 days to process a request?? That’s all I’ll say about that.)  I’ve been waiting for something small to trigger a deluge, and I was almost relieved that it finally happened.  I was just dealing with all the stress way too well, something had to give!  Fortunately I did everything I could on my end, calmed down, let it go, and managed to have a restful last night with the cats.

Most of the day was consumed with getting the cats to the airport to ship them as cargo to Mississippi.  While we’re moving and finding a place in Nashville, they’re going to stay with Sam’s family until we’re settled in.  It’s a huge relief that they have a home to go to, but getting there wasn’t easy!  There were a ton of hassles at the airport – the cargo facility was separate from the airport, the kennel regulations were recently changed so we had to buy new ones, and the cost was twice as much as we were originally quoted.  Oh well, it was all worth it to get those furry things safely across the country!  The rest of the day we packed, cleaned out the pantry/fridge/freezer, and did laundry.  We were exhausted by the end of the day so we celebrated our last Saturday in SF at Nob Hill Cafe.  We were seated at the same table as our very first visit, and it was bittersweet to think about all that has happened since we moved here almost three years ago.

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
