Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

Another full day of packing, with an extra helping of purging.  Sam got in on the action and we cleared out the closets, under the bed, excess paperwork, and his whole desk in record time.  We took a lot of breaks too, during which I called a few friends to catch up or watched the last of the Olympics throughout the day.  After dinner I got my second wind and kept packing… once you get into the groove, it’s hard to stop!

Bonus!  When we got into the wedding stuff, I decided that wearing my tiara would make packing much more fun!

My last Monday at work… I know I’ve said it a million times, but it’s just so weird to think “This is the last time….” In the back of my head every time I anything at all.  My awesome co-workers took me out to lunch and happy hour, which was a great way to relieve some stress and say goodbye.  I gave myself a reprieve from packing, and was out like a light as soon as I got home!

Oops, wore these pants twice in a row…  Somehow I forgot that most of my work pants need heels… and all my shoes were already packed!  Oh well, it was my last day at work so it didn’t really matter.  It was so bittersweet – wrapping up as much as I could, handing off projects that I thought I’d see through til the end, cleaning out my desk, saying goodbye to co-workers that have become good friends… it’s hard to say goodbye!

My first day of “funemployment”… Which meant a whole day of packing! I ran errands in the morning and made pretty good progress. It was raining all day, which made for a cozy time boxing up the last of the kitchen, closets, and office supplies… but even at a leisurely pace, packing is exhausting!

Last day of packing before the movers arrived. The big stuff is easy to pack, but it’s all the little stuff that drives you crazy. Sam helped me pack all the electronics before leaving for work, and after running some errands I cleared out each room, boxed all the miscellaneous stuff, and started cleaning. The forecast for rain and all the construction on our block worried me, but I just had to hope it would all work out for the move. For our last dinner in San Francisco, we went to another favorite Pancho’s… it was so surreal to think we were actually leaving for real!

All the things I was worried about actually ended up working in our favor. It rained off and on all day but it wasn’t too bad, and it was just enough to halt construction so our street wasn’t blocked off and the moving van was able to park right in front of our building. Hooray! We finished up some last minute packing and cleaning in the morning, and after lunch the movers came by and got started. They cleared out our boxes in no time but the disassembling and wrapping of the furniture took quite a while. In all, it probably took about 3 hours total, and we were exhausted by the end of it… and we weren’t even doing anything!  We did a last cleaning sweep, turned in our keys… and that was that. We took a cab to our hotel and ate a late dinner… we were both ready to hit the hay.

Travel day. Our time in San Francisco was officially done… Such a bittersweet feeling! We made it to the airport on time and everything went smoothly. By the end of the day we were in Nashville and ready for our next adventure!  Which included all our favorite Southern things – eating dinner at Chick-fil-A, driving around in a car, and stocking up on groceries to make our hotel seem a bit like home!
