WIWW: April 13-19, 2014

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

brown beaded flip flops // gift

I love this floral tank top, and never thought to pair it with this cardigan… I really like the combo.  Beautiful Sunday weather.  We took advantage with lunch and a stroll through downtown Franklin.  We started to visit a nearby antique store but got distracted by a sign pointing toward Fort Granger, and ended up exploring a park and walkways around an old Civil War site.  I love getting to know our new home!  Later that afternoon I had time for stitching out on the porch… I am also really loving having an outdoor space again!  All the good TV is back on Sunday night – Game of Thrones, Mad Men, Veep… we parse them out throughout the week to enjoy them longer.

skinny jeans // Kohl’s
brown ankle strap wedges // PayLess

I’ve had this top forever, and it makes me look about 12 years old, but I can’t help but love it.  Not much to say about Monday… driving hubby to and from work, running errands, getting some sewing in too… the unemployed life.  I’m enjoying it but I still feel plenty of guilt for all the free time I’ve got during the job hunting process… I guess life is never about one thing at a time.

Isn’t it strange this is my only plaid shirt I own?  Super sale at Kohl’s… in fact, quite a few tops this week are from a recent sale.  Another normal day, with a dentist appointment in the afternoon that was a bit of a disaster… it lasted several hours and made me over an hour late picking up hubby from work, and at one point I thought they had lost my ID and insurance card… but hey, no cavities!

The cats were not pleased with the cleaning and rearranging that preceded my mama’s arrival.  I love living so much closer to family!  We did what we do best… shopping at both grocery and clothes store… and then treated ourselves to Starbucks.  We christened the new George Foreman grill with chicken for dinner, along with broccoli and potatoes.  It was so nice to have our first guest… and even nicer that there are two bedrooms and bathrooms!

I love easy tops in a pretty color with an interesting neckline, and this fit the bill.  Doctor day… Mom and I went for a walk and then headed to Nashville to meet a gaggle of new doctors at Vanderbilt.  Beautiful campus and smooth medical experiences made for a good (but long) day.  I was exhausted by the end of it!

blue tipped flats // gift

This lace top is impossible to photograph clearly… oops.  Started the day with another walk and then spent Good Friday morning catching up on phone calls.  Then Mom and I hit a couple furniture stores, and hit the jackpot at a local consignment shop.  I’d visited with Sam previously and eyed a certain dining room table set, but when we saw the 50% off tag we knew it was fate!  There were two matching bedside tables also calling my name, and I’m so happy that Mama was there to help pull the trigger!  We watched Frozen later that afternoon before the furniture was delivered – in all, a pretty great day!

Goodbyes aren’t nearly so hard now that they mean only a few weeks rather than months… and in this case, only a few days before seeing family again!  Mom drove home and we relaxed at home.  Long weekends are great!
