I mentioned this strippy table runner in my previous post about Pinterest To Craft inspiration, and now I can finally share the finished product!
I pinned this tutorial a while back because it seemed like such a quick and fun project, and it was exactly that!
I made this table runner for my BFF’s beach wedding – we all went to MSU so I used our alma mater’s maroon, white, and black colors for the bride and groom’s new home. I’m glad I had the chance to make something in time for the wedding, and I can finally share now that the wedding is over… how did the time pass so quickly?!
Strippy Table Runner
Time: 1-2 hours
Cost: Free if you use scraps
- 24 strips of varying widths (1″-3″)
- 14″ x 40″ front and back pieces
- batting and binding
Finished Size: 14″ x 40″
I followed the directions from the P.S. I Quilt tutorial, although I eyeballed the measurements a bit more leniently. Below are a few in-progress pics – this project came together really quickly and easily, especially with the quilt-as-you-go method and leaving the strips’ raw edges. I could definitely see myself returning to this project again in the future, especially in different holiday colors for an easy decoration update. I might even fold and press the strip edges for more durability.
Congratulations again to my BFF and her new husband… I was honored to have a part in the wedding and to make something special for their new home!
Once more… three cheers for Pinterest!
