Double WIWW: April 20-26 and April 27-May 3, 2014

Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!  I was at the beach last week for my BFF’s wedding and a few extra days for a vacation with family, so this week is doubled up.  As a result, my notes are short and sweet!

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

Happy Easter!  Charming Charlie’s is my new favorite store… it’s like a Claire’s for the new adult crowd!  Beautiful day.

Teal is my power color.  Two interviews… one on the phone, and one in the afternoon… and one of them turned into a job!

Last minute packing for the beach (glad I included a couple dress options, they came in handy as bathing suit coverups!) and running errands.  I went for a walk in the morning and never made it out of my workout gear.

After a grocery run, my parents and I went for a walk on the beach… the weather was absolutely perfect!  For dinner I met up with the bride and groom for some great seafood and a walk on the harbor boardwalk.  The first of the wedding festivities!

plum workout capris // Lucy

Almost every morning we went for a walk on the beach… and this is what I wore.  I ended up wearing the same thing each morning… it was nice to keep my sandy clothes at a minimum!

On the beach I wore this coverup all day… I think it was supposed to be a dress, but I loved it as a coverup!

After a day on the beach I needed to freshen up with a shower for pedicures with the bride, then the rehearsal and a night out.

It was such a fun time celebrating with everyone who came for the wedding, especially since my brother and his girlfriend joined in too!

The big day!  Everything was mint and coral and beautiful… especially my BFF the bride!  I’ve never been to a beach wedding but it was such a beautiful setting and so much fun to hang out on the beach until late… it was perfect!

After the wedding, everyone was ready for a relaxing beach day.  Unfortunately my brother had to go home early… boo.  Lots of clothes changes throughout the day… coverup, bathing suit, relaxing in the condo!

Another beach day!  We were lucky to have one last day of partly sunny weather… that was the last of it for our visit.  My aunt and uncle flew down and it was so much fun to hang out with them on the beach!

Rainy day… we drove to nearby Seaside and Sea Grove, and the rain held off long enough to browse a couple shops and an afternoon cocktail.  By the time dinner rolled around, the lightning and thunder was pretty alarming… not a good sign for my flights the next day.

We held out hope that my flight home might not be delayed… but it wasn’t meant to be.  I honestly didn’t mind waiting another day… can’t complain about an extra night at the beach!

Fortunately the weather turned around and travel went smoothly.  Hubby picked me up at the airport and surprised me with tickets to the Arcade Fire concert that night!  It was a great show, although I was glad I didn’t have anything planned for the next day!

Saturday we drove to Nashville for a scrap sale at Pulp, I’ve been following my favorite artist Kate Whitley since my MSU days, so it was fun to see here again!  We listen to a lot of the Lightning 100.1 radio station and they hang out at The Poorhouse every Saturday afternoon, so we headed there for lunch.  It was a pretty perfect day… complete with naps and cross stitching outside on the porch.
