My brother and his girlfriend visited over the long weekend, and we had so much fun hanging out! Saturday was spent in Nashville – lunch at The Poor House, then browsing the Flea Market, then exploring downtown a bit and hitting Broadway. On Sunday we went to the Tennessee Renaissance Faire for jousting, people watching and eating as much food as we could find… then dinner in downtown Franklin to wrap up the weekend. We went back downtown the next day for lunch and strolling down Main Street before they hit the road… such a perfect weekend!
Lots of photos of course, so I’ve split them into two posts. (Check out the Flea Market and Downtown Nashville here). Today, the Tennessee Renaissance Faire!
We arrived just in time for the jousting tournament… and one man was unhorsed during the very first match! After that, it wasn’t quite as exciting but definitely a new experience!
So many interesting vendors and people and costumes… we didn’t even really shop, we just walked around and looked at everything. It was actually quite huge and took us a while to see everything. Good thing it was mostly shaded!
In between walking to and from shows, we ate!
The frozen strawberries dipped in chocolate sounded like a good idea… but they were really difficult to eat!
My favorite part… fairies! (In the fairy viewing garden, of course!)
More city sights coming soon as we explore the Nashville area!
