High Five for Friday! I’m sharing the highlights of my week… five to be exact! I love the idea of focusing on five little things that made me happy… definitely a fun way to recap the week and and stay grateful.
1 – Work Week Walks. I finally started waking up an hour early to walk each morning, and I’m really enjoying it! It feels great to spend some time outside and get a head start on the day…. plus I get to visit my favorite goose family and their adopted duck!
2 – Code Name Verity. Especially the audiobook… omg! Hubby can attest to the tears this book caused, but don’t let that deter you. It is the best war book (and YA for that matter) that I’ve read in a long time and the narrators were superb. (Also, a shoutout to SYNC – they offer two FREE audiobooks a week during the summer, check them out! All you need is the Overdrive app, which I already use to get ebooks from the library.)
3 – Beautiful Books. Last weekend we stopped by B&N and I came home with two beautiful hardback collections of favorite children’s lit – the first 5 of the Little House books and three by E.B. White – and they’re just so much fun to read! As much as I love books, I don’t spend much time in bookstores anymore. I suppose Amazon just makes it too easy to find new ebooks and the prices are hard to beat… but every time I actually go to a bookstore I remember how much fun it is to browse without a specific purchase in mind.
4 – Quilt ladder. Favorite mail of the week by far! I’m so excited about my new ladder for the living room – I can’t wait to fill it up with quilts!
5 – Game of Thrones. Season 4 ended last Sunday and it was a humdinger! This season was especially fun since we watched it live every week and got into some of the extra stuff too – I listened to the live Post Show Recaps podcast and watched Funny or Die’s Gay of Thrones and ComicBookGirl19’s recaps on Youtube each week too (links if you’re interested). Tuning in throughout the week made the season as a whole a lot more fun!
I’m linking up with Lauren Elizabeth for H54F!
