Another week of What I Wore Wednesday!

The Amateur Librarian // What I Wore Wednesday

What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

August 3
August 3
blue print tee // Kohl’s
navy capris // Loft
white flip flops // Old Navy
It was nice to have a weekend at home with nowhere to go.  We made a trip to the grocery store and I got supplies to make mini peach pies – yum!  I ended up eating them for dinner (and dessert throughout the week).  It was fun to bake something again… it’s been a long while!

August 4
wrap top // Loft
black cami underneath // Old Navy
black bead necklace // old
black pants // Banana Republic
pewter open toe sandals // Belk
I felt a lot more rested and ready for Monday… I definitely needed a quiet weekend to recharge!  After work I tried another Food Network magazine recipe for dinner: pan-fried tilapia with a lemon-garlic pan sauce.  It called for a cup of wine, so of course I had another glass (or two) to go with dinner.  It was pretty good!  Not sure it’s worth cracking open a new bottle to repeat the recipe, though.

Peter Pan collar cross hatch dress // Forever 21 via eBay
black straps + cork wedges // PayLess
Simple outfit – still loving this eBay purchase!  Sizing can be hit or miss, but I try to stick to brands I already know… and I never pay more than $10 so it’s not a huge loss if it doesn’t work out.  Busy day at work… transitioning to a new position which is exciting but man, my inbox is crazy!  The learning curve for new work stuff is always a bit overwhelming at first.

black+white print top // Charming Charlie’s
pearl bead necklace // gift
black skinny pants // Gap
red t-strap wedges // PayLess
Can’t beat black + white + red for easy an easy work outfit.
Bonus!
green skinny jeans // Old Navy
black straps + cork wedges // PayLess

After work hubby and I headed to Nashville to meet my uncle for dinner.  I added jeans and sandals for an easy update. My uncle was in town for business, so it was great to see him again and catch up.  The Southern was a cool restaurant right downtown – we’ll be back for sure!

August 7
August 7
white lace top // Banana Republic
sailboat pendant
navy sunburst print skirt // Loft
nude wedge sandals // Naturalizer
I tried on this skirt in the petites section at Loft but it was just too short to be office-appropriate… but the regular size worked just fine!  I love easy cotton skirts, especially in the summer. (I can’t believe August is already half over!!) Thursday is my favorite TV night of the week… Project Runway!  (And Impractical Jokers too!)
August 8
August 8
linen floral print top // Loft
green skinny jeans // Old Navy
Ronaldo bracelets // gift
silver rope sandals // eBay
I found these cropped skinny jeans on sale at Old Navy recently and can’t get enough of them!  I really like the green color, they seem like more of a neutral than other colored jeans I’ve seen around.  Another busy half day at work, then I ran some errands before getting ready to hit the road.  After stopping by the bank, the post office, and the pharmacy, I made it home to leave out food and water for the cats plus run a couple loads of laundry before loading up the trunk and picking up hubby from work.  We got on the road (just in time for rush hour traffic… boo) and drove to MS to kick off another fun weekend!
August 9
August 9
chevron print sleeveless top // Stitch Fix
silver initial leaf necklace // Etsy
Ronaldo bracelets // gift
skinny jeans // Aeropostale via eBay
white flip flops // Old Navy
We had some time to explore the lake before getting ready for the birthday party later in the day for hubby’s grandmother. It was great to hang out with family again… and so nice that they’re only a drive away now!  Also, I love this top from Stitch Fix… my 4th box was the best yet, and they’re definitely getting the fit better as they go.

I’m linked up to The Pleated Poppy for WIWW!
