What I Wore Wednesday is my motivation for wearing the clothes I own, finding new ways to mix and match outfits, and not wearing the same three things all the time! I kept a fashion diary for the entire year of 2012, in 2013 I added a bit about my days to go along with the outfit, and I’m continuing the same tradition in 2014… So these weekly check-ins are a mini journal of my life too!

Back in the car to head toward Tennessee after hanging out with hubby’s family for the weekend. I couldn’t leave without snapping a pic of the awesome hand-quilted quilt on the bed! The four hour drive gets quicker each time we visit… I’m just glad we’re not a flight away anymore! We were happy to see the cats again once we were back home and rest up before the work week started again.

I like this top better in person than in pics… but I feel that way with a lot of outfits that end up here on WIWW. Oh well! Hubby always asks how long I’m going to keep up with WIWW and I really don’t know… it’s just habit by this time, but I’m sure I won’t have time for it forever. Maybe one day I’ll decide to just give up on it… but not yet! (Too bad for hubby, since he’s been taking the pics lately.) Otherwise, just another Monday in the books. Busy day at work, followed by a grocery run and catching up on the DVR (the season finale of Food Network Star was the highlight for me… I love Lenny!)
nude+black geometric print dress // Deep South Pout
turquoise bubble necklace // GroopDealz
black strap + cork wedges // PayLess
Another busy day… and another easy dress + necklace outfit. I finally decided that if I’m not going to wake up early every morning to exercise, then I should at least try to fit it in some other time. So I did my usual walk/run loop right after work, and it worked out surprisingly well. I thought it might be too hot at the end of the day but it really wasn’t so bad.
Bonus: This is my excited face!
mint bow print top // Loft
black skinny pants // Gap
ankle strap heels // eBay
Running out the door as usual – just another simple work outfit. After work I went for another walk/run – so far the new time is working out pretty well!
animal print dress // Belk
taupe cardigan // Ann Taylor
black half-circle necklace // GroopDealz
nude wedges // Naturalizer
Love this dress when I’m in a pinch and can’t decide what else to wear. Another busy day at work and another walk afterward. An ice-cream “snack” from Sonic turned into dinner… I’m really good at being an adult, obviously!
green tee with lace neckline // Anthropologie via eBay
skinny jeans // Kohl’s
cutout flats // PayLess
I love working half days on Fridays so I can get all my errands done in the afternoon. Stopped by JoAnn’s to pick up some essentials, went to an eye doctor appointment (nothing like running out of contacts to speed up the urgency to find a new doctor!), and got some laundry done. But the big deal (for me)… was chopping all my hair off! Well, not all of it… but definitely shorter. Gotta love Before and After pics.
Bonus: Before heading to the salon I started looking through past hair cuts… I’ve almost always had shortish hair, and I’ve missed it!
pink t-shirt // old
black pants // old
black flip flops // eBay
Painting clothes for the Music City Modern Quilt Guild field trip! We met at one of the member’s home to learn about hand-dyeing fabric… It was so much fun! I came home with four fat quarters and I can’t wait to make something with my new hand-dyed fabric! Kept the old clothes on while running errands and cleaning up around the house, then went to the movies to see Boyhood. So, so good! All the rave reviews are true. Almost forgot about snapping a fashion diary pic until we got home, so that’s why Tali is so shadowy.
