I’m super excited to join in on Freshly Pieced‘s Fair Isle Sew-Along! I love the pattern but it’s a bit intimidating and bigger than what I usually make… which is why I jumped at the chance to make it along with lots of others for tips and motivation. Each week will tackle one row of the quilt, and in eight weeks I should have a completed quilt (cross your fingers, knock on wood, pinky swear, etc.) … here we go!
Week Two: Poinsettia blocks
So glad the cutting from Week 1 was already done!
The poinsettia blocks were pretty involved – and honestly, this is about as much work as I would usually put into a single quilt! Which is another reason why I’m glad I’m doing this a week at a time – much less intimidating.
Cora helped me through, of course. And Halloween candy!
I used this nifty trick for trimming HSTs from Little Miss Shabby- saves so much time!
Hubby and the cats hunkered down to listen to lots of podcasts and ta da – all finished!
Week 3 starts today – the Fir Tree blocks, and they look a lot less complicated!. Stay tuned for another update next week!
