Fair Isle Sew-Along: Week Three

I’m super excited to join in on Freshly Pieced‘s Fair Isle Sew-Along! I love the pattern but it’s a bit intimidating and bigger than what I usually make… which is why I jumped at the chance to make it along with lots of others for tips and motivation.  Each week will tackle one row of the quilt, and in eight weeks I should have a completed quilt (cross your fingers, knock on wood, pinky swear, etc.) … here we go!

Week Three: Fir Tree blocks

The Amateur Librarian // Fair Isle Quilt

After last week’s poinsettias, this week was a breeze!  These six fir trees came together super quickly. and look super cute!  In fact, I didn’t really stop to take many pics because it only took a couple hours from start to finish. Each week I can’t help but think that each row’s blocks would make an awesome quilt all by themselves.

Week 4 starts today – the Reindeer blocks, and they are another complicated block. I may have to tackle an easier one instead, since we have family visiting this week.  Stay tuned for another update next week!

If you missed any of the previous weeks, here are the blocks done so far:
