Sea Greetings Mini Quilt

I finished the Greetings from the Beach cross stitch (by Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery) a couple weeks ago, and I knew that I wanted to finish it in some way other than framing it to hang on the wall. I’ve been mulling it over ever since, and finally decided to make a mini quilt that would match the other two nautical mini quilts in my collection (Over the Sea and Under the Sea).

Ta da: Sea Greetings!

I used scraps of blue (and a bit of yellow) to make a simple log cabin block, with the same backing fabric to tie it together with the other two nautical mini quilts. It came together pretty quickly since it’s so small. I’ve never sewed aida fabric before, and I was too nervous to quilt over it, but I think it turned out pretty well.

Cora decided to join me for a quick photo shoot outside before adding it to the wall-o-mini quilts.

It fits right in! There’s still plenty of room for more…
