WIP Wednesday

Another weekly update on my current WIPs… except there’s only one right now.

A Little Boo Cross Stitch

Now that it’s feeling like fall, all I want to do is work on holiday handwork. I got a little ahead of myself with a Thanksgiving cross stitch last week… but I can’t forget Halloween! I picked up this Lizzie Kate kit at when I needed some Week Dye Works floss for another project, and since it included linen I decided to give it a try. I have to admit, I was not a fan at first, but I’m finally getting the hang of it (linen vs aida cloth).

I brought this project to the Music City MQG meeting so I could finally tackle the linen. I think the key for me is to work with bright light, either overhead or natural.

A sunny Sunday afternoon was perfect for some more stitching time outside, listening to a podcast (The Splendid Table) and hanging out with the cats. I’ve stopped trying to work on this project at night, but now that it’s getting dark earlier I’ll have to stick to bits of time on the weekend. Here’s hoping it actually gets done before Halloween!

Speaking of which… the other side effect is that I haven’t picked up the Woodland Creatures cross stitch lately… might not finish up the October block in time, but we’ll see.

And that’s about it!
