Time for an update on our new house journey…
November was the biggest month yet! Everything is coming together at lightning speed now. Over the summer it felt like every stage took about a month to complete, but now new things are happening daily. Insulation and drywall have been hung, then cabinets and tile in the bathrooms, and on the latest visit the baseboards/molding and doors have been installed. There’s still so much to do in the next 30 days – hardwoods, carpet, granite, paint, etc.!
The closing date has been set right before Christmas Eve, which is not ideal, but we’ll make the best of it. We toyed with the idea of canceling our Christmas trip to see family but decided to go ahead – the house can wait for a couple days and we’ll still move by the end of the month.
Here are some progress pics:
Unless a major catastrophe happens, next month will be the last leg of the journey. We’ll do the orientation with our builder, the final walk through, closing the loan with the lender, and moving… all before the New Year, whew! I can’t wait to write that post!
The kitchen and bathroom are looking great!
