We drove down to Birmingham, AL for a wedding this past weekend. The weather was glorious and I broke out the flip flops for the first time this year!

We left mid-morning and got to Birmingham about 2 1/2 hours later Our hotel was in downtown Birmingham near Five Points, so we ate lunch around there and took a power nap before the wedding.

The reception was held at the coolest venue – Sloss Furnaces, with industrial water features and old trains surrounding the main building. I’ve known the bride since we were in the fourth grade together, so it was fun to catch up with her and her family. It was a beautiful night – three cheers for Amanda and Jimmy 🙂

 

 

 

The next morning, we stopped by the Vulcan for a view of the city before heading home again. Birmingham is always a great destination for a quick road trip.
