Octopus Dance Cross Stitch

Over the weekend I finished up the third mini cross stitch in a trio of Hands on Design patterns I bought last year. It was a summer goal to get these done, framed, and hung on the wall… and I’m almost there!

Octopus Dance was super fun and quick to stitch up. The Square-ology patterns show only a quarter, and you rotate the chart four times to complete the 4×4″ design. Even though the four octopi (love using that word!) seem intricate, this one came together more easily for me than the other two patterns. I used a sparkly green-blue aida fabric from Picture This Plus since I knew this one would go in the middle, and it was a dream to work with after the stiff navy aida from my stash. I’m definitely spoiled by PTP fabric – it’s hard to stitch on anything else now! (Even though I haven’t graduated to linen… one day!)

For more pics of the other two – look here: Sail Around and Sand Castle.

It’s not a quilt… but I’m linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish Friday!
