Last week I started my maternity leave at work, and the big B Day is almost here!
In the past few days, I’ve taken care of some errands like organizing our paperwork (thanks to my parents for a new filing cabinet!), doing the last rounds of cleaning, doctor appointment, checking off last-minute shopping for supplies and groceries, etc. … but also some essentials like leisurely breakfasts,
baking an apple cake, staying up late to read in bed and finish a book,
going to Starbucks by myself,
cross stitching with my feet propped up,
and adding some picture books to baby’s library.
The cats seem glad to have me around, but they have no idea how their world is about to change. It’s hard to know what to expect going forward, but I’m so excited and ready to meet our new addition to the family.
I’m going to take a maternity leave from the blog as well, but I’ll check in when I have something to share (Trick or Treat cross stitch pics coming soon, and of course I’ll share the birth announcement!). I might try to continue High Five for Friday since I enjoy recapping my week – and I’m sure I’ll want to document those first few weeks of babyhood – but I don’t have a real plan in mind for how often I’ll post or for how long my “leave” will last. I’ll be back though, never fear!
Please send lots of healthy baby vibes my way! And Happy Monday 🙂
