High Five for Friday!

I’m back for H54F! We survived the first 10 days of parenthood and Amelia has taught us so much already.

As usual, I’m sharing the highlights of my week… five to be exact!  This week is dedicated to Amelia. Focusing on five little things that made me happy is my way of recapping the week and a reminder to stay grateful.

1 – Birth. Amelia was in a breech position so I had a scheduled c-section. There were some additional complications during the surgery but thankfully the end result was a happy, healthy baby. I don’t know where all 8 lb 5 oz of her was hiding but I’m glad she arrived safely!
2 – Family. We were lucky to have family from both sides visit during the hospital stay, and we’ve been Facetiming and group messaging ever since. We’re all obsessed!
3 – Parenthood. Sleep deprivation is no joke but I’m glad my partner in crime is along for the ride. The days are slipping by quickly already.
4 – Grandmaternity Leave. I have no idea how I would feed myself or shower every day if my mama wasn’t here for a few weeks. Every day we wonder where the time went but it has been such a comfort having her here with me! She deserves all the grandmother awards.
5 – One Week. We made it! Amelia’s first pediatrician appointment went great and she continues to change every day. Every little movement, hiccup, and eyes opening causes awe. No matter the frustrations and exhaustion, I’m so happy she’s finally here!

  1. Looks and sounds like you all are getting used to parent and grandparenthood…. looks good on all of you. Hope you are healing Katie and can enjoy this transition in life. Am anxious to see all your pics, Diane.
    Love, Becky
