I’m sharing the highlights of my week… five to be exact! Time keeps flying by, even though I have very little to show for it compared to pre-baby life. I’m learning to take everything one day (or hour, sometimes) at a time!
H54F is all about focusing on five little things that made me happy; it’s my way of recapping the week and a reminder to stay grateful.
1 – Halloween. Baby’s first Halloween was a success! Even though Amelia’s hunger kept me away from the door most of the night, my mama handed out candy and reported on all the adorable trick or treaters who came our way. There are so many “firsts” these days and the first holiday was a fun one!
2 – 26! My most favorite (and only) brother turned 26 yesterday and drove up for an impromptu weekend visit. It’s always so much fun to see him, especially adding a new baby to the mix.
3 – My Quilty Village. My sewing mojo has been missing for most of 2016, but just when I almost had two baby quilts completed, my sewing machine threw a tantrum and I was forced to put them aside before Amelia’s arrival. But a friend from the Music City MQG came to the rescue and offered to bind them both! More pics coming soon, of course.
4 – New Brother. Don’t worry, I’m not replacing my human brother, just getting a new sewing machine! It cost almost as much to service my old machine as it was to replace it, so I got a little upgrade in the process. Although I’m super excited to get to know a new machine, I have to admit that opening it up was a bit bittersweet because I know it will be a while before I’ll actually have time to sew again.
5 – Family Weekend. I’m trying super duper hard to focus on the GOOD parts of this weekend while my brother and Dad are visiting, and NOT the Goodbye part that comes on Sunday.
