Goodbyes are hard. I’ve got a very few minutes to blog today, and I can’t come up with anything more profound than that. My mama stayed with us for the four weeks, and yesterday we had to say goodbye to that first era of Amelia’s little life.
Words really can’t express how much my mama‘s presence helped me through these first weeks of motherhood. From the practical to the emotional, she’s the best, and I can’t muster the words to do her justice (especially while I’m sleep deprived, ha).
Fortunately we had a family-filled last weekend together so I couldn’t be too sad, with a surprise visit from my brother for his birthday and my Dad driving up for a three-day weekend. Of course they fit in a few projects too – it’s not a family visit until some quilts and frames are hung (Although I don’t think my brother knew he’d be staining a porch on his birthday weekend.) We even fit in our first date night to see a movie.
Sam is working from home this week which helps to ease the transition, but of course I miss my mama in so many ways. Before I get weepy-eyed again, let’s cut to the photo dump.
A few highlights from the first few weeks of life with Amelia!
I don’t even know what to say….
