Two Months with Amelia

Amelia is 2 months old! I keep a little journal to write letters to Amelia each month (all two of them so far, ha!) but of course I need to dump some photos and memories here as well.

A quick update on life with Amelia: The second month involved more crying (on her part) but also a bit more confidence (on our part). Most of my days are spent coaxing her to sleep and nursing around the clock, but occasionally I’ll get a long nap to myself, and her smiles make the tears more bearable. She is alert for much more of the day and we are figuring out how to play. Rattles and crinkly toys and her music mat are a big hit, and we read lots of stories. My favorites are illustrated songs (like The Twelve Days of Christmas by Jan Brett or Hush Little Baby by Sylvia Long) that I can sing along to, since I’m terrible at remembering lyrics if they’re not written down. Tummy time is not her favorite thing but she’s pretty game about lifting her head and wiggling around for a few minutes before she lets you know she’s done. She loves soft blankets and feeling plush toys, so that helps.

Amelia is getting her first round of vaccinations at the pediatrician today, so wish us luck!!

The second month with Amelia!
