First finish of 2017 is in the books!
The second clue of the Merry and Bright cross stitch pattern is complete, a wee bit late for the holidays, but it’s done! This was a fun project to work on during the season spanning from Thanksgiving to the New Year, even if a brand new baby slowed me down. The penguin (in earmuffs!) and the little gingerbread men in the frosty border might be my favorite details. I couldn’t resist the matching needle minder, that penguin is just too cute! I ran out of steam before getting to the bonus pattern, but maybe I’ll pull it back out later this year when I’m ready for another round of seasonal stitching.
I’m still thinking about how I want to display it, so it will join my (growing) pile of finished-but-not-framed projects. I might deviate from the usual frame and try making a standup cube (this tutorial and this video look promising). Whatever I do, I’ll try to do something similar with the Trick or Treat cross stitch since they’re in the same series of patterns.
Here’s a look back at progress pics:
Voila!
I’m linking up to Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish Friday.
Impressed; adorable!

Looks great! I stitched this as well! I love Frosted Pumpkins patterns. I finished the Halloween Town in to a cube (rectangle lol) . Looks OK for my first try. Are partaking in this year’s stitch a long? I finished the Jan block a couple days ago. Last year’s wasn’t first SAL, and it too is in my completedbut not finished pile lol

The 2017 SAL is so cute! I’m not going to do it this year just to free up some time for other projects, but I can’t wait to see everyone’s progress!

My plan is only 1 SAL this year to finish some wips from 2016 that went by the wayside. But there will be exceptions for smaller Frosted Pumpkins SALs!
