Alabama Adventures

Time moves differently with a baby around. We spent last week in AL with my parents and we aimed for one outing a day. A couple days we didn’t even manage that, but somehow the time flew by! I know I sound like a broken record, but it’s just so nice to have more pairs of hands around to hold or rock or walk or soothe Amelia… and to assure me once more that they don’t mind the crying, Grandparents are the best!

Our week away felt like a vacation from the routine (thanks to hubby for holding down the fort!) and involved a lot of…

eating good food,

visiting family friends,

catching up with an old friend over lunch,

long walks,

hot chocolate and Girl Scout cookies,

getting Amelia’s thumbprint made into jewelry,

errands around town,

reading (2 whole books!),

soaking in the hot tub under the stars,

bath time splashes,

Amelia’s first laugh,

and lots of snuggly baby time, of course!

I even took some pictures… although not quite as many as most trips, and I mostly stayed away from social media (which was a vacation unto itself…).

Of course, goodbyes are inevitable but never fun. A & I are happy to be back at home with Sam again, but we’re definitely missing the company of my parents. FaceTime just isn’t the same!

Until next time…
