Another weekly update on my current Works in Progress 🙂
Drinks All Around Cross Stitch
It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve picked up this cross stitch, even though it’s only been a couple weeks. After being out of town for a week, I couldn’t resist picking it up as soon as baby was in bed on Sunday night… hence the darkness!
Here’s a little peek of my messy crafty corner too (stolen from Instagram stories).
I didn’t think I’d have time to finish up the lemonade, but then Amelia took a good long nap yesterday so it happened! Full post with pics coming next week, but here’s a peek at the last bits of progress!
If I can find a suitable frame, I’d like to try my hand at lacing via Wild Olive’s recent tutorial.
Round Robin Quilt
I just got these in the mail yesterday but here’s a quick look at the (two!) round robins I need to tackle before the next guild meeting in April. I haven’t had a chance to work on either one yet, but here are some initial thoughts.
First up is Marcia’s start, Round 2. So beautiful!! Marcia included a card on which each member can write about what they added. She wants to keep the quilt in the square shape, but otherwise she didn’t have any “rules.” I’m going to dig into my peachy pinks and aquas for this one… and maybe attempt some curves?!
Next is Round 3, which was started by Jayne and then Marcia added Round 2. The pink and grey combo is striking! I love how Marcia added curves to Jayne’s precise flying geese, especially the hand-embroidered antennas on the little butterflies. I’m thinking I need to keep up with the geometric theme and maybe add another shape… something pointy, perhaps? Or maybe play up the animal theme? I want to think carefully on this one.
This is going to be quite the challenge but I’m excited to work on both of these rounds!
And that’s about it!
