WIP Wednesday

Another weekly update on my current Works in Progress 🙂

Impossible Cross Stitch

I thought I might have this one finished over the weekend, especially since I brought it to guild with me, but I keep getting distracted! When naps are so short and I have to get boring stuff like laundry out of the way first, it’s hard to decide what to do with my free time… cross stitch, sew, read? Most of the time I try to do it all, which is probably why I never finish anything.

Almost there, though! I finally finished all the clouds, and now I’m working on the backstitching around the banner. Then this one will be donezo!

Hanging Kitchen Towels

Another example of how I keep getting distracted… these hanging towels should take an hour at best, but I’m still working on them. It didn’t help that there was a mistake in the pattern (ugh!) so I had to rip out some stitches (after sewing all six, of course). Oh well!

The only step left is sewing velcro on the handles, and then this project will be done too.

(I’m using this free pattern, but be aware that in step 4 of making the handle, the two fabric pieces should be right sides together and layered on top of the batting before sewing.)

Soft Taggy Blocks

Amelia loves anything with tags, so I’ve been thinking of making her a quiet book with tags galore, but before I go that far, soft blocks seemed like an easier/quicker project to start. I’m using this free pattern from Abby Glassenberg, and it looks pretty straightforward. I made a trip to JoAnn’s to pick out some ribbon and polyfill, I’m waiting on some rattle inserts from Etsy, and I’ve made a bunch of piles on the floor. It might look like more of a mess than progress but that’s they way things go around here!

And that’s about it!
